My name is Bisola-Mariam. I relocated to the United States in 2020 on a fully funded scholarship. When I arrived the US, my family members started making demands and this was my first stress. On arrival in the US, I had no house of my own, because I came in with ONLY $300. It was not even enough to transport myself around, or get a comfortable place.
Despite coming in on a fully-funded scholarship, I was not going to receive money from the school, until the end of the month.
The left me heartbroken, as I was completely reliant on my friend, who could not help me much.
I realized that people in the US do not easily part with their money.
I then pledged that I will equip other scholars with the skills to monetize their knowledge or talent.
I struggled financially for about 3 months, because the bills were too much and barely had enough at the end of every month.
The good news!
Before I moved to the United States, I had enrolled in training to learn how to earn from my knowledge and talent.
I also registered a social enterprise back in Nigeria, to structure my business in Nigeria.
This structure ensures that my business serves people in Nigeria as well as other African countries.
